Amber King is a first-year Industrial-Organizational Psychology Ph.D. student at Florida Institute of Technology with a background in forensic psychology. Her research repertoire includes topics on interoperability, human-AI agent teaming, and decision making in high stakes environments. Her specific interests are understanding the ways in which individuals, teams, organizations and intelligent systems coordinate to produce effective results in complex environments. Her research explores how people develop trust in AI, the effects of AI outputs on decision making, and the role of interoperability in facilitating collaboration in emergency response and other high-stakes domains.

Amber’s work applies both forensic and industrial-organizational psychology to bridge the gap between psychological theory and practice. Her research investigates the influence of leadership, team dynamics, and emergent technologies on performance in operational contexts. Actively engaged in research, she collaborates with Dr. Brandon May on projects with international police networks, decision-making, and artificial intelligence that improve scientific understanding and real-world outcomes.
